P.E.E.S. – Background - In order to obtain significant changes in the behaviours of energy-system users and to enable a sustainable use of the energy, facing matters about energy and environment only the dissemination of the knowledge was not sufficient. - It was necessary to actuate changes in the behaviours defining and using proactive methods of involvement. P.E.E.S. – Objectives - Contribution to the forming of a “energy consciousness” in the students involved in the educational programmes of the project, giving instruments, competences and skills of analysis and evaluation. - Contribution to the forming of a “energy consciousness” in other students of the pilot-schools. - Common methodology for the calculation of energy consumption. - Energy School Management in the pilot-schools. P.E.E.S. – Expected Results - The final impact of the project was to obtain significant changes in the environmental awareness and rational use of energy in the students and teachers of the secondary schools. - To obtain the reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissions in the involved schools. - The project caused other concrete results by the dissemination of the acquired notions about the energy saving within own families, conveyed through daily practice and not only through theoretical discourse, functioning as “energy ambassadors”.
